Who is this course for:
This course is for those who wish to refresh their knowledge on first aid while their first aid certificates are still valid.This is also the course for health professionals (GPs, Nurses, Dentists, etc) who would like to maintain their first aid skills on an annual basis.
This is a good course for the general public who would like a quick introduction to first aid.
Course Content:
Assess the schene for danger, casualty's level of consciousness, how to to open a casualty's airway and check for breathing, how to place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position, Recognise the need to commence CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation);
Identify the common triggers for anaphylaxis, recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, identify the possible life-threatening features of an anaphylactic reaction;
Administer treatment to a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis, identify key features of various adrenaline auto-injectors, safe use of an adrenaline auto-injector using training device, how to safely dispose of sharps.
